Raymond Van Dyke Appointed Chair of AIPLA’s Emerging Technologies Committee

Washington, DC -- Raymond Van Dyke, partner in Winston & Strawn LLP’s Washington, D.C. office, was appointed chair of the American Intellectual Property Law Association’s (AIPLA) Emerging Technologies Committee. His appointment by the president of the association becomes effective this month.
He has been an active member of AIPLA for 12 years and most recently served as the committee’s vice chair. The mission of AIPLA’s Emerging Technologies Committee, which has several hundred members, is to foster communication and education in areas of emerging technologies and intellectual property law, particularly in the growing areas of nanotechnology, Internet, VoIP and informatics. Van Dyke will be in charge of developing and producing educational programs relating to emerging technologies at the committee level and at the three national AIPLA meetings.
For the past 17 years, Van Dyke has focused his practice in technology and intellectual property counseling, procurement, licensing, and litigation in federal courts and the U.S. International Trade Commission. In addition to his involvement with AIPLA, Van Dyke is chair of Greater Washington’s Licensing Executives Society, is an Adjunct Professor at Southern Methodist University, and was recently on the Board of Directors of the International Technology Law Association.
The American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) is a national bar association constituted primarily of lawyers in private and corporate practice, in government service, and in the academic community, with more than 17,000 members.
