TCS Awarded Operational Support System Patent

New Invention Enables Dynamic Management of Multiple Heterogeneous Applications by Wireless Operators
TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (Nasdaq: TSYS), a leading provider of mission-critical wireless communications, today announced the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued patent number 7,302,612, titled "High Level Operational Support System."
The patent enables applications and systems to be managed dynamically, regardless of the platform or programming technology. The invention allows for wireless operators to centrally manage multiple applications in a more efficient manner. Fault management, statistics management and system health monitoring can all be done in a consistent fashion across all applications.

"The new High Level Operational Support System invention by TCS provides the common framework to empower wireless operators with the full ability to monitor, analyze and manage their heterogeneous applications dynamically at runtime, regardless of the platforms in use."
About The Invention
The "High Level Operational Support System" patent provides a method and apparatus for monitoring the health of multiple applications and providing a common management interface to dynamically change a performance-related configuration. The TCS invention allows for programming languages of the applications to be C++ and Java, and for management services to be Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), Java Management Extension (JMX) and Transaction Language One (TL1).
