Dickstein Shapiro LLP Elects Four Attorneys to Partnership

Washington, DC -- Dickstein Shapiro LLP has elected four attorneys to the partnership effective January 1, 2008: Divonne Smoyer, Salvatore P. Tamburo, and Christopher H. Wood from the firm’s Washington, DC office, and Paul C. Sullivan from the New York office.
Divonne Smoyer, a partner in the State Attorneys General Practice, represents clients in connection with complex public policy disputes and state government investigations, as well as in negotiation and litigation involving complex, multiparty disputes pertaining to asbestos, silicone implants, pharmaceutical products, and other mass torts. Ms. Smoyer received her J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
Paul C. Sullivan, a partner in the Insurance Coverage Practice, represents clients in insurance coverage and general civil litigation in federal and state courts throughout the United States. Mr. Sullivan represents policyholders in insurance coverage cases that have involved coverage for first-party property losses and for liabilities arising from asbestos, environmental remediation, employment practices, and fiduciary and professional obligations. He also represents clients in civil litigation involving a wide variety of other contractual disputes and tort liabilities. Mr. Sullivan earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Vermont Law School.
Salvatore P. Tamburo, a partner in the Intellectual Property Practice, focuses on IP litigation. His practice also encompasses other aspects of IP law, including licensing, counseling, preparing opinions on patentability, infringement, validity, and enforceability, as well as preparing and prosecuting patent applications. Mr. Tamburo holds a B.S. in electrical engineering and earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law.
Christopher H. Wood, a partner in the Antitrust Practice, focuses on complex antitrust litigation and dispute resolution, representing plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state proceedings spanning domestic and international markets and a diverse array of products and industries. His experience extends to the firm’s "opt out" and settlement practices and defending corporations in international civil and criminal investigations into alleged antitrust violations of competition laws in the United States and other jurisdictions. Mr. Wood received his J.D. from The College of William & Mary, Marshall-Wythe School of Law.
