Greenberg Traurig Expands IP Roster in Silicon Valley, Adds Litigator J. James Li

East Palo Alto, CA -- The international law firm of Greenberg Traurig, LLP today welcomed J. James Li, Ph.D. Previously with Howrey LLP, Li joins the firm’s intellectual property practice as a shareholder. Li focuses on business counseling and litigation with emphasis on complex technology matters, including all phases of intellectual property litigation.

Li has substantial experience in all aspects of intellectual property litigation involving a broad spectrum of technologies. He has litigated patent and trade secret cases in the electrical and biomedical industries, as well as copyright and trademark cases. Li has also successfully represented clients in several commercial disputes including breach of a sales agency contract and breach of a distributorship agreement.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Li studied biomedical electronics design and neuroscience. He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
Li earned his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley Boalt Hall School of Law 1999, his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina 1993 and his B.S. from Peking University 1984.
