Patents Spotlight KoolSpan Innovation and Showcase Award-Winning TrustChip Technology
Bethesda, MD -- KoolSpan, Inc., the leading innovator of simple secure connectivity solutions that seamlessly unite mission-critical network devices, today announced it has been awarded two patents from the United States Patent and Trademark Office titled 'Mass Subscriber Management' (U.S. Patent No. 7,325,133), and 'Localized Network Authentication and Security Using Tamper-Resistant Key' (U.S. Patent No. 7,325,134).
"We are delighted to receive both patents, which cover cornerstone KoolSpan technologies that enable a remarkably strong security design with unprecedented scale. These patent awards shine an important spotlight on the transformative and truly breakthrough nature of our technologies, validating our novel approach to solving complex problems simply," said KoolSpan CEO Tony Fascenda.
KoolSpan TrustChip technologies deliver fully-encrypted network connectivity and mutual authentication within a streamlined device-to-device architecture that protects critical voice and data traffic end to end. TrustChip technologies also feature distributed security management without limits of scale or network type, and a dedicated and hardened crypto engine that offloads security processing from host devices. Deployed in its own optimized hardware environment, KoolSpan's high-performance security engine remains insulated from threats and bottlenecks that can reside in open platform, mobile and legacy host devices.
"KoolSpan is dedicated to delivering high-grade, tight footprint solutions that scale, reducing the time, cost and complexity of securing communications across both enterprise and industrial environments," said KoolSpan Chief Scientist Emil Sturniolo.
KoolSpan technology has been rigorously tested and favorably reviewed by top security research organizations in the United States government, as well as many industry trade publications. Last year, KoolSpan was named an Information Security Magazine/TechTarget Readers Choice Award winner for Best Emerging Technology, a category winner of the 2007 SC Award for Best Multi-Factor Authentication technology, and in 2006, as one of the Top Ten "Security Companies to Watch" by the editors of Network World.
