Thursday, February 28, 2008

Boston, MA -- Fish & Richardson P.C. announced today that Peter J. Gordon has joined the firm’s Boston office as Of Counsel in its Patent Group, where he will focus his practice on strategic patent portfolio development, patent prosecution, and licensing, particularly for computer hardware and computer software.

Prior to joining Fish, Mr. Gordon was the Director of Intellectual Property at Avid Technology, Inc. Before joining Avid, he was a shareholder in Wolf, Greenfield & Sacks, P.C., where he was the chair of the Software Practice Group.

"We are very pleased to have Peter join our firm. He is a seasoned patent prosecutor and counselor with strong electrical engineering and software experience. He is a great addition to our world class patent group as we continue to grow these practice areas," said Peter Devlin, President of Fish & Richardson.

"I was a client of Fish & Richardson, so I knew this was the right firm for me when I decided to go back into private practice. I am excited to be part of this incredibly talented team and look forward to using my in-house expertise to assist the firm in servicing its existing clients and in cultivating new ones," said Peter J. Gordon.

Mr. Gordon received his J.D., cum laude, from Suffolk University and his S.B. in computer science and engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Founded in 1878, Fish & Richardson P.C. is an international law firm with more than 450 lawyers in 11 offices throughout the United States as well as in Munich, Germany. The firm is the largest in the United States practicing intellectual property, litigation, and corporate law and offers global services that include worldwide IP strategy and representation in multi-national litigation. Fish has long represented great innovators and entrepreneurs, including pioneering inventors such as Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison, and the Wright Brothers.
