Corporate Tax Software Innovator Embeds Next-Generation Analysis Capability in Industry’s First Apportionment Management Solution
Sunnyvale, CA -- Liquid Engines, a leading provider of enterprise-class corporate tax management software, today announced the filing of a provisional patent application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in which it seeks patent protection for key aspects of its recently released state tax software. The new invention employs advanced methods of processing volumes of historical information in memory to provide customers with virtually instantaneous access to any data, from any point in time, as well as, the resulting impact of that data.
First to leverage this innovation is Liquid Engines AMx, a new software application that provides a single foundation for collecting, consolidating, sourcing, computing, and reporting on state tax apportionment data. Deployable over the web and offering an intuitive interface, AMx enables tax professionals from any functional area — from any location — to access information exactly when they need it, and at the right level of detail. A key feature of the solution leverages the patent-pending data tracking method to ensure users are able to recall data, reports, and calculations at any point in time – and do so in an instantaneous, real-time manner.
Unlike traditional data versioning methods which typically require the storage of all data and results, or, at a minimum, the complete reconstruction of the results of the historical data, via CPU-intensive recalculation, this latest software breakthrough leverages the power of memory-resident OLAP cubes to provide unparalleled data retrieval and calculation performance along with data storage efficiencies.
"A famous American philosopher, Ralph Waldo Emerson, once said, ‘Invention breeds invention.’ At Liquid Engines, we pride ourselves on practicing this philosophy and continually strive to uncover new and better ways to help our customers address their tax management challenges," said Steve Wagner, chief technology officer for Liquid Engines. "The filing of our latest provisional patent application is yet another testament to our commitment to be an innovator and leader in the tax technology industry, and I am honored to be leading such an innovative team."
