ParkerVision’s Patent Portfolio for its Innovative d2pTM RF Transmit Chain Technology Continues to Grow

Thursday, April 17, 2008

Additional Patent Grant Further Delineates d2p Technology Advantages

Jacksonville, FL -- ParkerVision®, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRKR), a developer and marketer of semiconductor technology solutions for wireless applications, today announced the issuance of the latest patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office for its Direct2Power (d2p) technology, patent number 7,355,470. This patent further distinguishes the inherent capability of the company’s RF transmission and power amplification technology to simultaneously create highly efficient and highly linear RF power waveforms for superior performance over competing solutions. The company has targeted the first applications of d2p technology for use in mobile handsets.

CTO David Sorrells commented, "The novelty and usefulness of our d2p technology enables us to continue building our intellectual property portfolio and further enhance and secure our technology benefits. Our growing d2p patent portfolio continues to verify how we can deliver unsurpassed power efficiency and highly accurate (linear) RF power waveforms, which collectively equate to longer battery life and improved call reliability when deployed in mobile products."

When ParkerVision’s d2p technology is applied to mobile handsets, a single unified circuit can produce 2G, 3G and 4G RF power transmissions with unmatched power efficiency while reducing size and bill of material costs when compared with competing solutions today.

About ParkerVision

ParkerVision is focused on the commercialization of its patented RF communication technologies that enable significant advancements in wireless products and services. These technologies are described collectively as Energy Signal Processing (ESP™). ESP optimally processes RF waveform energy, eliminating costly and inefficient circuit processes inherent in traditional RF designs.

ParkerVision's solutions initially address key needs for extended battery life, reduced cost, and higher performance in mobile handsets as the cellular industry migrates to next generation networks. The company's extended business strategy targets additional market opportunities in communications and networking where it can leverage its ESP technologies for products and services in an increasingly wireless world.
