Flexpoint Files Patent on Near Market Ready Seat Switch Technology

Wednesday, May 21, 2008

Draper, UT -- Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. (OTCBB: FLXT) today announced the company has filed for a provisional patent on a variable speed switch which utilizes the Bend Sensor® technology to control an electrical motor in the seat.

Seat control devices currently on the market typically are complicated assemblies with numerous moving parts controlled either by a joystick type device or multiple switches to regulate the movement. These units tend to feature multiple sensors making them complicated, heavy and bulky in a time where space and gas efficient vehicles are at a premium.

Additionally, current assemblies are limited in their functionality often having just two states on or off; when the motor is on, it runs at a constant speed without offering the ability to precisely dial in the ideal seat position.

"We have filed the necessary documents to protect our interest in the use of this technology and will now move forward to bring this technology to the marketplace," stated Clark Mower, CEO of Flexpoint. "I firmly believe this technology will land Flexpoint its next automotive contract. We are currently negotiating the terms and conditions of a Joint Development Agreement based upon this device. This agreement will outline the steps required to bring this technology to the automotive industry and result in a final completed product for sale."

Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc.

Manufactures a patented cutting edge flexible sensor that has also proven to be an extremely durable switch. The single layer Bend Sensor® product allows for the measurement of mechanical movement, air flow, water flow or even vibration. It can be used as a range of motion sensor, or as a durable, & reliable switch in most harsh environments. Flexpoint serves numerous industries including automotive, medical, industrial controls & more.
