Ruckus Wireless Issued Patent that Enhances Position as Worldwide Leader in Smart Wi-Fi

Sunnyvale, CA -- Ruckus Wireless, Inc., (Ruckus) a pioneer in development of Wi-Fi technology, is pleased to announce that the company has been issued U.S. patent number 7,362,280 for a "System and Method for a Minimized Antenna Apparatus with Selectable Elements."
Ruckus’ latest patent addresses the ever-increasing demand for higher data throughput and a corresponding drive to reduce interference that can disrupt data communications. Ruckus Wireless has over 70 patents granted or pending worldwide in the area of intelligent antenna or wireless technology innovation.
The patent discloses coplanar dipoles that provide gain with respect to isotropic and a horizontally polarized radiation pattern. Each dipole has one or more loading structures that decrease the physical dimension of the dipole and thereby the size of an accompanying antenna apparatus. The dipoles may be electrically switched to results in various radiation patterns.
