UC Berkeley Center for Law & Technology Head, Robert Barr, Joins ThinkFire Board of Directors

Warren, NJ -- ThinkFire, Inc., a leading intellectual property advisory, brokerage and licensing firm, announced today that Robert Barr has joined its Board of Directors. This brings the number of ThinkFire Directors to five. Mr. Barr is currently the Executive Director of the Berkeley Center for Law and Technology at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall). Formerly, he was Vice President for Intellectual Property and Worldwide Patent Counsel for Cisco Systems in San Jose, California, where he was responsible for all patent prosecution, licensing and litigation.

Mr. Barr has taught at the Berkeley School of Law and at Hastings College of the Law where he was Adjunct Professor of Patent Law. He has been named by the Daily Journal as one of the top 25 intellectual property lawyers in California and as one of the top 10 in-house intellectual property lawyers.

Separately, ThinkFire announced two recent additions to its leadership team. W. Drew Kastner has joined the company as President, Trademark Licensing, a new business unit. Kastner is a long-time trademark licensing attorney, most recently as a Partner at Moses & Singer. Previously, he was the Managing Corporate Counsel, Trademarks and Copyright for Lucent Technologies and for nine years Mr. Kastner served as Chief Worldwide Copyright and Trademark Counsel for the NBC Television Network and Stations. W. Richard Misiag also has joined ThinkFire as the head of its patent licensing group. Misiag previously was a Vice President of Licensing in General Electric’s Trading and Licensing Organization.
