Certified Licensing Professional Exam Offered in October 2008

Monday, September 15, 2008

Candidates can take exam during week of the Licensing Executives Society (USA and Canada), Inc. Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida

Alexandria, VA -- Intellectual property (IP) licensing professionals can take advantage of a golden opportunity to earn their Certified Licensing Professional™ (CLP) credential by scheduling and taking the required examination during the Licensing Executives Society (USA & Canada) Inc. Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida during the week of October 20, 2008.

As the program nears its one-year anniversary, nearly 700 licensing professionals have already earned the CLP credential, which involves meeting specific education and experience requirements and passing a 150-question exam covering eight key areas of IP licensing.

To be eligible to take the exam during the week of October 20, candidates must submit their applications no later than the week of October 6, 2008.

"Earning the CLP is a way for licensing professionals to distinguish themselves in the licensing industry and demonstrate their experience and proficiency," says Jim Sobieraj, Partner, Brinks Hofer, and Chairman of the CLP Board of Governors.

The first step for CLP candidates is to review the Candidate Handbook & Study Guidelines, available online at www.licensingcertification.org. The guide contains details about eligibility requirements, tips for preparing for the exam, and practice questions and answers representing the key knowledge domains on the exam. Applicants also receive access to an online practice test containing 50 sample questions. Applications are submitted to CASTLE Worldwide, the CLP testing and program administrator.

In addition to the examination dates during the week of October 20, candidates not planning to be in Orlando may schedule an exam date any time during the month of October at any one of over 300 locations in the U.S. and Canada. Candidates may also submit applications a minimum of 15 days in advance to schedule exam dates during upcoming testing periods: January and July 2009. Visit www.licensingcertification.org for a list of exam sites and to complete a CLP application.
