GraphOn Awarded Patent Relating to Internet Protocol Transformation

Monday, September 15, 2008

Santa Cruz, CA -- GraphOn Corporation (OTCBB: GOJO), a leading worldwide developer of server-based application publishing and Web-enabling software solutions, announced today that it has been issued a new patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

U.S. Patent 7,424,737, issued on September 9, 2008, relates to the transformation of Internet-compliant data into a format appropriate for a non-Internet destination. More specifically, the patent describes a firewall device that receives Internet traffic and re-formats it into a protocol appropriate for the traffic’s destination.

"We recognize the vital importance of intellectual property in today's marketplace," stated Robert Dilworth, GraphOn’s chief executive officer. "We are pleased to add this new patent to our intellectual property portfolio which includes technologies fundamental in the conduct of online commerce. Our portfolio now includes twenty-four patents, two patents allowed but not yet issued, and more than fifty pending patent applications. Our objectives are to continue to increase the number of patents we own and to maximize the value of the intellectual property they protect."

In 2007, GraphOn licensed its patents and patent applications to AutoTrader.com, its parent Cox Enterprises, Inc., and all affiliates. A lawsuit is proceeding against Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR), alleging that certain Juniper products infringe GraphOn patents protecting network security and firewall technologies. A lawsuit is also proceeding against Classified Ventures, LLC; IAC/InterActiveCorp (Nasdaq: IACI); Match.com (an operating business of IAC/InterActiveCorp); Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO); eHarmony.com; and CareerBuilder LLC alleging infringement of GraphOn patents protecting unique methods of maintaining an automated and network-accessible database. A separate lawsuit is proceeding against Google Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOG) alleging infringement of the automated and network-accessible database patents.
