Seven Rader, Fishman & Grauer Attorneys Named Michigan Super Lawyers and Rising Stars

Bloomfield Hills MI – Five attorneys at the intellectual property law firm of Rader, Fishman & Grauer PLLC, Bloomfield Hills office, were named Michigan Super Lawyers and two attorneys were named Rising Stars by Law & Politics, a national journal of legal and political issues. R. Terrance Rader of Troy, Michael D. Fishman of Birmingham, Richard D. Grauer of Huntington Woods, Michael B. Stewart of Birmingham and Glenn E. Forbis of Commerce were named Michigan Super Lawyers. Mary Margaret L. O’Donnell of Royal Oak and Tracy L. Zawaski of Royal Oak were named Rising Stars.
Only 5 percent of the total lawyers in Michigan are listed as Michigan Super Lawyers and 2.5 percent are listed as Rising Stars.
All of the Rader, Fishman & Grauer attorneys chosen as Michigan Super Lawyers and Rising Stars are highly experienced intellectual property lawyers whose practices focus on patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret strategies, dispute resolution, litigation and licensing.
The seven attorneys are:
R. Terrance Rader (Troy), a founding member, is considered one of the top intellectual property litigators in America. Rader has more than three decades of experience in patent, trademark and trade secret litigation appearing before U.S. District Courts across the United States and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Rader is a former primary examiner for the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. In addition to being listed as a Michigan Super Lawyer, Rader is also listed in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law and Best Lawyers in America. He holds a juris doctor, with honors, from American University and bachelor of science in mechanical engineering, with honors, from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Michael D. Fishman (Birmingham), a founding member, is consistently ranked one of the top trademark filers in the U.S. His practice focuses on maximizing opportunities for trademark licensing and worldwide trademark protection. Fishman is listed as a Michigan Super Lawyer. Fishman has served on the editorial board of the Trademark Reporter published by the U. S. Trademark Association. He holds a juris doctor from Wayne State University Law School and bachelor of science from Wayne State University.
Richard D. Grauer (Huntington Woods), a founding member with more than 40 years of intellectual property experience, was elected to the distinguished Academy of Court-Appointed Masters and helps decide complex patent cases in U.S. District Courts. Grauer also serves on the CPR Technology Panel of Distinguished Neutrals, is a Court-Certified Facilitative Mediator in intellectual property disputes and a frequent expert witness in patent trials. In addition to being listed as a Michigan Super Lawyer, Grauer is also listed among the Best Lawyers in America. Grauer holds a juris doctor, with honors, from George Washington University, master of science in automotive engineering from Chrysler Institute of Engineering and bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from University of Michigan.
Michael B. Stewart (Birmingham), a founding and managing member, has worked in a wide range of technical areas in domestic and foreign intellectual property matters, including merger and acquisitions, prosecution and litigation. Stewart’s breadth of experience has enabled him to apply a comprehensive, cross-disciplinary approach to maximize the scope of intellectual property protection and beneficial usage for his clients. Glenn E. Forbis (Commerce), a managing member, is an experienced litigator focused primarily on patent infringement and validity. He has appeared before numerous district courts and courts of appeal, as well as before the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Forbis represents numerous international corporations and has overseen the drafting and prosecution of hundreds of patent applications. In addition to being listed as a Michigan Super Lawyer, Forbis has been recognized as a Crain’s Detroit Business "40 Under 40" business leader to watch. Forbis holds a juris doctor, cum laude; MBA, with honors; and bachelor of science in electrical engineering, summa cum laude, all from the University of Michigan.
Mary Margaret L. O’ Donnell (Royal Oak), a member of the firm, practices primarily in trademark and copyright prosecution and unfair competition, trademark, domain name and Internet litigation. O’Donnell has been recognized as a Rising Star and as a Crain’s Detroit Business "40 Under 40" business leader to watch in 2009. She holds a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School, a Masters of Law equivalent in Intellectual Property, with honors, from The University of Bordeaux, France and a bachelor of arts, with high distinction, from the University of Michigan in French and Political Science. She also completed a political science program in Aix-en-Provence, France and a comparative law program in Shanghai, China. O’Donnell clerked at two law firms in France, is currently a co-chair of the ABA Section of Litigation, Trademark Litigation Subcommittee, and is an active member of the Women’s Bar Association and is teaching International Trademark Law at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
Tracy L. Zawaski (Royal Oak, currently practicing in Chicago), an associate attorney of the firm, focuses on trademark and computer law. Tracy represents multinational companies, small businesses and individuals, and animal welfare organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. Zawaski has been named as a Rising Star. Zawaski holds a Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School and a bachelor of arts in Psychology from Wayne State University. She also completed an International Maritime and Comparative Law Program in Greece through Tulane Law School. Zawaski serves on the Board of Directors of Michigan Pet Fund, a non-profit animal welfare organization.
