UMD, Inc. Announces Patent Application Filing for pH Modulated Films for Delivery of Actives

Cincinnati, OH -- UMD, Inc., a Cincinnati drug delivery company, today announced the filing of U.S. Patent Application Serial No. 12/130,279. The application deals with pH modulated films for delivery of actives. This application is very similar to one filed by MonoSol Rx on December 14, 2006, which published as U.S. Patent Application No. 2007/0149731 A1 on June 28, 2007.
MonoSol Rx was under contract to UMD for the development of a system of thin film relating pH and drug absorption. The MonoSol Rx application was filed without the knowledge of UMD and failed to name what UMD feels to be the proper inventors. The UMD application announced above includes an inventor from MonoSol Rx.
