CREDANT Technologies Awarded U.S. Patent

Friday, November 14, 2008

Dallas, TX -- CREDANT Technologies, the market leader in mobile data protection solutions, today announced it has been granted patent 7,437,752. CREDANT utilizes this patent in connection with its CREDANT Mobile Guardian (CMG) solution.

Unlike older technologies, CMG delivers data security with no disruption to the end user. The technology enables CMG to run on portable devices, including handheld computers, laptops, iPods, smartphones and more. The CMG architecture includes four primary components:

  1. The CMG Enterprise Server, which enables users to set and enforce data policies.
  2. The CMG Shield, which resides on devices and external to ensure data is always protected.
  3. The CMG Policy Proxy, which resides on the corporate network or in the DMZ to provide secure distribution of policies and policy updates.
  4. The CMG Local Gatekeeper, which resides on desktops and notebooks to automatically detect, apply policy and control mobile devices.

The use of mobile devices, including laptops, PDAs, smartphones, USB drives, etc. in corporate environments is projected to grow significantly in the next three to five years. Their use impacts the integrity of corporate IT infrastructures. CMG enables these companies to secure these devices to prevent data leaks, data theft, and other common security breaches.
