Adds Six Associates and Elects Two Partners As Its IP Group Continues To Expand
Wilmington, DE -- Connolly Bove Lodge & Hutz LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Louis M. Heidelberger and Jonathan M. Darcy as Partners in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. Jennifer Fraser and Aaron R. Ettelman were elected to the Partnership. And in stark contrast to recent trends, Connolly Bove has also added six new associates to its Intellectual Property Group: Daniel M. Attaway, Charles W. Chesney, Tamika A. Crawl-Bey, Peter M. Jay, Thatcher A. Rahmeier and Young A. Tang.
Louis Heidelberger, a former chair of the Intellectual Property Group of Reed Smith, and subsequently, the administrative head of the Philadelphia office of an AmLaw 200 firm and member of its Executive Committee, has been a frequent speaker and author on topics related to his practice and he has been listed in Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers. He represents clients in a variety of areas including: intellectual property counseling; opinions; due diligence; licensing; transactions; litigation; prosecution; opposition and cancellation proceedings; reissue and reexaminations; and domain name and anti-cybersquatting matters. Heidelberger litigates before the federal courts and the International Trade Commission and is a member of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He has extensive experience in handling matters involving telecommunications; wired and wireless communications; media and content distribution; nanotechnology; bio-informatics; medical, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals; and chemicals and advanced materials.
Jonathan Darcy joins Connolly Bove with substantial experience in patent prosecution, opinion counseling and litigation, as well as trade secret, confidentiality agreement, trademark, copyright and other intellectual property counseling. He has a technical background in electrical engineering, and prior to becoming a lawyer, worked as a design and implementation engineer in the precision control and process monitoring industry. As a result, he is well positioned to manage intellectual property portfolios covering nanotechnology, complex micro-electronics and electro-photonics, semiconductor devices, analog and digital communications systems, fiber optics, data compression, security and storage, media and content distribution, wired and wireless networking and energy conservation systems, among other technologies. Darcy has also managed intellectual property centric commercial transactions, including due diligence reviews, and he has analyzed intellectual property portfolios targeted for acquisition. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark office. He has been listed in Super Lawyers as a "Rising Star" in Intellectual Property.
Jennifer Fraser, Chair of the firm’s Trademark and Copyright section, represents clients in a variety of areas including trademark prosecution and trademark and copyright litigation. Her practice focuses primarily on the selection, use and enforcement of trademarks including prosecuting U.S. and foreign applications, litigating rights before the courts and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and resolving domain name disputes. She is a former Examining Attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She is also a member of the Intellectual Property Owners’ Trademark Office Practice Committee.
Aaron R. Ettelman practices in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. He has a technical background in organic synthesis, vitamins and dietary supplements, agricultural adjuvants and actives, cosmetics and surfactants, measurement devices and sensors, medical devices, fuels and lubricants, coatings, plastics and polymers, electrochemical and battery sciences, semiconductors and non-volatile memory, mineral extraction and textile treatments. Prior to joining the firm, Ettleman was chief intellectual property counsel and assistant secretary for the U.S. subsidiary of a global specialty chemicals company. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark office.

Daniel M. Attaway practices in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group in Wilmington. He represents clients in patent prosecution, litigation, and counseling in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. He received his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he was an associate editor of the Journal of Intellectual Property, the editor of the Seventh Circuit Review, and editor-in-chief of Access to Justice. He received his B.A. and B.S. from Rice University in Chemical Engineering and English.
Charles W. Chesney practices in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group in Washington, D.C. He represents clients in a variety of intellectual property matters including patent prosecution, patent litigation, patent counseling and opinions, and trade secrets in the electrical and medical devices arts. Prior to returning to private practice, Chesney was the director and counsel of intellectual property for a wireless communications company developing technology for emerging OFDMA based wireless communications networks. Prior to practicing law, Chesney worked as a systems engineer in the telecommunications industry. He received his J.D. from The University of Virginia School of Law, his M.S.E.E. from The George Washington University and his B.S.E.E. from The Pennsylvania State University.
Tamika A. Crawl-Bey practices in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group in Wilmington. She represents clients in a variety of areas including patent prosecution, patent litigation and counseling, specializing in the mechanical arts. Before practicing law, Crawl-Bey worked for over 10 years as an Applications Engineer for leading manufacturers of metal-polymer bearings, specialty seals and engineered plastic components. She received her J.D., cum laude, from Widener University School of Law, where she was the articles editor for Widener Law Review and the founder of Widener Journal of Law Economics and Race. She received her M.B.A. from Wilmington University and her B.A. and B.M.E. from University of Delaware, majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Liberal Arts.
Peter M. Jay practices in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group in Wilmington. He represents clients in a variety of areas, including patent litigation, patent prosecution and counseling in the chemical and pharmaceutical fields. He received his J.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law, where he was executive publications editor of the Buffalo Intellectual Property Law Journal. He also received his M.E. and B.S. from the State University of New York at Buffalo, majoring in Chemical Engineering.
Thatcher A. Rahmeier practices in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group in Wilmington. He represents clients in a variety of matters including patent litigation, patent counseling and opinions, trademark and copyright litigation, unfair competition and trade secrets in the electronic, computer and internet fields as well as the Mechanical Arts and other diverse areas of technology. He received his J.D., cum laude, from University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he was the assistant articles editor of Journal of Technology Law and Policy. He received his B.S.E.E from University of Miami, majoring in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Audio Engineering.
Young A. Tang practices in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group in the Los Angeles office. He represents clients in a variety of fields including patent prosecution and litigation in mechanical and electronic technologies. He received his J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law, his M.S.E.E. and his B.S.M.E. from University of Minnesota.
