Nixon Peabody Expands Intellectual Property Practice

Veteran Litigator R. Mark Halligan Joins Firm’s Chicago Office

Chicago, IL – International law firm Nixon Peabody LLP is pleased to announce that R. Mark Halligan has joined the firm as a Partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group. Mr. Halligan will be based in the firm’s Chicago office.

Mr. Halligan has developed an extensive practice as an intellectual property litigator focused on protection and enforcement of trade secrets. He is also an experienced patent litigator and an accomplished trial attorney in both federal and state courts in all aspects of intellectual property law during his more than 20 years of practice. Mr. Halligan joins the firm from Lovells Chicago where he was responsible for leading the firm’s Intellectual Property, Media and Technology practice.

Mr. Halligan is a frequent lecturer on intellectual property issues and serves as an Adjunct Professor at John Marshall Law School in Chicago where he teaches trade secrets law. He serves on and chairs several bar and trade association committees including the Trade Secrets Committee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago. Mr. Halligan is a graduate of Northwestern University Law, J.D. and the University of Cincinnati, B.A., summa cum laude.
