Nutter earns high marks for training, compensation & dedication to diversity
Boston, MA – Nutter McClennen & Fish LLP ranked No. 1 in the nation for associate satisfaction for the second consecutive year, according to a recent survey by The American Lawyer, a leading national trade publication. Nutter is the only Boston firm to be named in the top five, with an overall score of 4.8 out of 5.
The firm has placed in the top five nationally in each of the past five years, and in four of those years has ranked first in Boston.
Results indicate that Nutter scored particularly high in the areas of partner-associate relations, training and guidance, benefits and compensation, and openness about finances.
"We place a high value on the work that our associates do on behalf of the firm," said Michael Mooney, Nutter’s managing partner, "and we believe that in order for them to succeed, they must be inspired, challenged and supported."
This year’s survey included 6,101 respondents from 200 firms. In addition to strong scores about the quality of work, associates also gave high marks in the area of firm culture, particularly Nutter’s dedication to diversity, family-friendliness and collegiality.
Nutter associates recognized the firm for its culture of promoting associate leadership in all work and the firm earned the highest evaluation for work satisfaction with a score of 4.88. "Size plays an important role," Pratt N. Wiley, a third-year corporate associate at Nutter, told the American Lawyer. "We are able to work directly with clients, and work in small teams with more direct partner interaction."
