Sirenza Microdevices Awarded Patent on Dynamic Feedback Linearization
Thursday, May 17, 2007
Broomfield, CO -- Sirenza Microdevices (Nasdaq: SMDI) today announced the company has been awarded U.S. patent no. 7,218,175 entitled "Dynamic Feedback Linearization."
This new U.S. patent discloses a means for improving linearity and efficiency for a wide breadth of amplifier applications.
"This patent is directly applicable to our core amplifier product lines," stated Kevin Kobayashi, executive engineering fellow. "For example, combined with our two previous bias patents, this dynamic feedback technique can enable a more efficient class of operation for our traditional Darlington feedback amplifier products. An IP3 to dc power ratio linearity figure of merit of 26.9:1 has been demonstrated at 2 GHz. This is an improvement of three times in linear efficiency over a conventional approach using the same semiconductor technology."
Joe Johnson, chief technical officer, stated, "The implications of this patent are far reaching and may have a wide breadth of applications for low power wireless devices."
