NeuroTherm is Awarded US Patent for Multi-lesion Radiofrequency Generator

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

Wilmington, MA -- NeuroTherm is pleased to be recognized by the United States Patent Office as the first company worldwide to develop and release a multiple output radiofrequency generator used in the treatment of chronic pain, ref. US Patent No. 7,574,257.

"This patent is a great honor and represents a major step forward in radiofrequency technology," says Bill Rittman, CTO of NeuroTherm. "The multi-lesion design has since become the standard for the interventional pain industry; we have come a long way in helping patients who suffer from chronic pain and the people who treat them, and I look forward to being a part of many more innovations at NeuroTherm," continues Rittman.

"NeuroTherm is proud to receive this milestone patent which is one great example of the many novel technologies we have developed to treat those suffering with chronic pain," says Larry Hicks, CEO of NeuroTherm. "Protection of our intellectual property is also vital to maintaining our leadership," continues Hicks.

NeuroTherm was formed in September 2005, as a concurrent acquisition of RDG Medical in the U.K., and RF Medical and Precision Medical Engineering in the U.S. by Cortec Group, Inc. This merger brought together the worldwide known NeuroTherm brand name for generators with a U.S. leading disposables product line. Today NeuroTherm has a full line of RF generator and accessories, with several models offering the patented multi-level technology.

NeuroTherm is a leading manufacturer of products used in the field of Interventional Pain and Podiatry including the Micron Epidural catheters, NT line of radiofrequency generators, and related consumables. We focus on providing great products and a remarkable level of service so physicians are able to perform procedures more safely, quickly, and effectively.
