Terry was formerly an associate in the litigation department of Paul Hastings in their Washington, D.C. office, and at Sughrue Mion PLLC in Washington, D.C..

Terry earned his J.D. in 2000 from the University of Maryland School of Law, graduating summa cum laude as the class valedictorian, and as a member of the Order of the Coif.
