U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Issues New Patent to Eid Passport, Inc.
Thursday, December 17, 2009
Portland, OR -- Eid Passport, Inc. was awarded U.S. Patent number 7,631,805 from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for "Systems and Methods for Managing Security at Plural Facilities" on December 15, 2009.
Eid Passport, the nation’s leading commercial provider of Department of Defense (DoD) accepted credentials for non-DoD credentialed workers, now has two process patents directed at identity management and access control of personnel who seek entry at secured facilities such as military bases, government buildings and critical infrastructure locations.
The patent issued December 15, 2009 contains forty-four (44) new patent claims. The claims cover such activities as conducting background screenings of personnel, generating security identification cards, and having personnel present their identification cards for electronic "reading" for entry at access points.
"As pioneers in providing identity management solutions built around our military and government customers as well as the commercial market, we are proud to be awarded this new patent," said company CEO Steve Larson. "It represents a substantial expansion of our original U.S. Patent number 6,779,721. The patent award is welcome news for us, particularly given our industry’s strong emphasis on intellectual property assets."
Eid Passport’s solutions include its widely adopted RAPIDGate® Program, which has been implemented by the U.S. Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security and NASA. The RAPIDGate Program is an identity management solution focused on vendors, contractors, service providers and suppliers to secure government and military installations.
