Patent Confirms AfterCollege's Unique Vertical Approach to Online Recruiting
San Francisco, CA -- AfterCollege, Inc. (www.aftercollege.com), the nation's largest web-based employment network specializing in recruitment at the college level, today announced it has been issued U.S. Patent No. 7,213,019, entitled "Career management tools and network" by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The patent covers AfterCollege's proprietary approach to delivering relevant job opportunities to specific audiences.
The process described in AfterCollege's patent includes the creation of custom career resources for academic departments, student groups, professional associations and other affinity groups. It also includes the dissemination of employment information to these groups through the matching of relevant qualifications associated with these groups. The approach allows employers to target their jobs and messages to audiences where they are most likely to find matching candidates.
Traditional online recruiting services consist mainly of general job boards, that require users to visit and seek out opportunities. For employers, this often results in an excessive number of applicants, many of whom do not meet employers' basic requirements.
