Monday, April 12, 2010
Costa Mesa, CA -- Jeffer Mangels Butler & Marmaro LLP (JMBM) announced today that patent and trademark litigation attorney Gregory S. Cordrey has joined the firm’s Orange County office as partner. Cordrey, formerly of intellectual property litigation firm Howrey, focuses on technology patents, including those for manufacturing liquid crystal displays, internal combustion engines, aircraft electronics and interiors, and certain types of plastic containers. In the last several years, he has represented companies in patent infringements cases involving bio-medical products, construction equipment, specialty paper products, food containers, golf clubs and electrical components.
“We are continuing to grow our Orange County office by adding high-quality, experienced and entrepreneurial attorneys who are familiar with the needs of the surrounding business community,” said Bruce Jeffer, Managing Partner of JMBM.
“Greg’s experience with a wide range of technology patents and engineering background make him a great fit for our expanding patent litigation practice,” said Stan Gibson, a partner in the Intellectual Property and Litigation practices. “We’re excited to have Greg as a partner and to expand our litigation expertise by matching knowledgeable attorneys with the efficiency and quality clients expect from JMBM.”
“JMBM is a great place for me to grow my practice,” said Cordrey. “I’m looking forward to working with the attorneys at JMBM to further serve my clients and continue the successful growth of JMBM’s Orange County office and the firm’s patent litigation practice.”
Cordrey received his JD from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 1997 as well as a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Boston University in 1988 and an MBA from Pepperdine University in 1992. Before he began practicing law, Cordrey worked at McDonnell Douglas Corporation as an aerodynamic design and flight test engineer for several large transport aircraft.
In addition, JMBM announced that Meghan C. Sherrill, formerly of Bryan Cave LLP in Santa Monica, will join the Orange County bankruptcy and workout practice as an associate. She received her JD from the UCLA School of Law and a BA in History from UCLA. She interned for the San Bernardino County Public Defender’s office.
“Our firm continues to grow with the addition of these two great attorneys,” said Gordon Schaller, Managing Partner of JMBM’s Orange County office. "We look forward to more like-minded attorneys joining us.”
