CardinalCommerce Corporation Reports Patent Grant by the United States Patent and Trademark Office

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

Mentor, OH -- CardinalCommerce, the worldwide leading enabler of payment brands, announced today that it has been granted a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Patent US 7,693,783, Universal Merchant Platform for Payment Authentication, was issued to CardinalCommerce on April 13, 2010. This latest patent complements and strengthens Cardinal's European/US patent portfolio.

"As always Cardinal is fully committed to our Customers, and this new patent is a testament to unique advantages our products and services offer," said Michael A. Keresman, III, Chief Executive Officer, CardinalCommerce. "We expect our technology and the opportunities it affords our Customers to be of particular interest to Merchant Gateways, Order Management Systems, and Processing Platforms worldwide. In fact, it would be hard to imagine any of these service providers getting along without the benefits of this technology or what the patent teaches."

"This newest patent supplements earlier issued patents and further enhances Cardinal's proprietary position with regard to the Universal Merchant Platform System, better known to the merchant industry by the Cardinal Centinel mark," said Pat Roche, Partner, Fay Sharpe LLP. "We are quite pleased with this recognition and the legal scope of protection afforded to the inventions. Commensurate industry appreciation of our IP rights is expected, as Cardinal will not accept anything less."
