Chapman and Cutler Welcomes New Partner Christopher Buchko, Ph.D.

Chicago, IL -- Christopher J. Buchko has joined Chapman and Cutler LLP as a partner working on intellectual property and patent matters in the Corporate Securities practice group.
Mr. Buchko joins the firm from McAndrews, Held & Malloy LTD where he also worked on intellectual property issues. He will be working with the Intellectual Property team in Chapman and Cutler’s Chicago and San Francisco offices, effective August 2.
Bob Schneider, a partner in the Corporate Securities and Intellectual Property practice groups, said, “the firm's practice in intellectual property has been growing in both volume and scope, and this is a very exciting time for us. We are thrilled to have Chris onboard. He strengthens our already successful IP practice, and his particular experience in medical technology and life sciences is another example of our expanding commitment to our clients.”
Mr. Buchko holds a PhD in materials science and engineering from the University of Michigan and a BS in physics from Stanford University. He brings a background in both law and industry to the firm, and has worked on all aspects of patent litigation, interference, and reexamination proceedings. He is also named as inventor on several patents from his previous work in R&D engineering.
