Wells-Gardner Announces Filing of First Patent Application for Medical Market Involving LCDs

Wednesday, June 27, 2007

Chicago, IL-- Wells-Gardner Electronics Corporation (AMEX: WGA) announced that they had filed their first medical patent involving LCDs.

"The filing of this medical patent application is an indication of our commitment to entering the medical LCD market. It is also a continuation of our program to develop intellectual property particularly involving LCDs and to increase our value to stockholders as a technology company," said Anthony Spier, Wells-Gardner's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "This brings the number of patent applications to nine in both the gaming and medical industries."

"Our medical patent application pertains to a software application that enhances LCD performance in color LCD panels such that they can be used in a high resolution monochrome environment which is extremely common in medical applications," noted Robert Lube, Wells-Gardner's Vice President of Engineering. "This means that the medical customers can purchase from Wells-Gardner an LCD for use in a high resolution monochrome environment using a color LCD panel. Color LCD panels cost about 70 percent less than monochrome LCD panels due to consumer demand. This represents a dramatic savings to the medical industry and at the same time will give our medical customers a more versatile product with a color LCD."
