Shine Holdings Announces Patent Filing for Bioremediation Process

Friday, June 29, 2007

Cary, NC -- Shine Holdings, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: SHDG) has announced today the filing of a provisional patent for a remediation process against possible bioterror agents such as anthrax, botulism, and viruses that might be deliberately released in water. The process is for a tri-use ozone, hydrogen peroxide and UV-based diffusion system.

Shine Holdings, Inc. CEO Brett Swailes said, "Ozone as a basic decontaminant, by itself, is half again as strong as existing chlorine-based methods. The U.S. FDA has approved treatment with ozone as an anti-microbial agent for direct contact with foods. Ozone is already proven as an effective killer of bacteria, pesticides, mold, fungus, and virus, depending on the dilutions and the exposure times. Once it has disinfected the target agent, there is no smell or lingering aftertaste remaining in normal drinking water, as oxygen and water are the significant byproducts. By combining an optional hydrogen peroxide injection and a UV feature, as we expect to do, the end-user will have a cost effective method against a broad array of microorganisms."

The North Carolina-based company has executed a formal letter of intent to license the technology to U.S. BioDefense, Inc., a Department of Defense Central Contractor developing homeland security and leading-edge biotechnologies.

"The patent filling is a very important step toward the development of the Biochemical Defense System. We look forward to finalizing our evaluation of this leading edge," said David Chin, CEO of U.S. BioDefense, Inc. (OTCBB: UBDE).
