MOPN Files U.S. and International Patents for Soil Cleanup Technology
Friday, January 21, 2011
Bath, NH -- MOP Environmental Solutions, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: MOPN) has received notice on January 18, 2011 confirming the International Patent Cooperation Treaty filing date of December 30, 2010. This notice follows the separate filing of a corresponding U.S. Non-Provisional Patent on December 22, 2010 thereby completing all the U.S. and International Filings.
The above Patent filings cover the use of our MOP Maximum Oil Pickup and/or virtually all other known sorbents for use in our "Method and System for Removing Liquid Hydrocarbons from Contaminated Soil."
MOPN Company President and CEO Charles Diamond stated: "This plays an important role in our ongoing discussions with the Saudis such that all the international filings are now in place for disclosure of the method that we propose in response to their inquiry to deal with their oil contaminated Saudi Arabian coastline that borders the Persian Gulf. In our correspondence the oil polluted area identified for remediation extends along their coastline from the United Arab Emirates to Kuwait.
"Without this new technology a viable method for remediation of oil contaminated soil has resisted all practical attempts to accomplish this important task in many locations around the world. This method is what we have proposed for use in some of the world's largest known oil spills on land. Saudi Arabia, Ecuador, Kuwait, Azerbaijan and Nigeria are some of the important locations where different levels of progress through discussions and negotiations are underway to gain acceptance of our new technology."
