People Power Receives New Patent for Its Power Usage Monitoring System

Palo Alto, CA -- People Power Company, a green technology startup focusing on energy efficiency solutions, is pleased to announce that Patent number 7,840,383 was granted by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its power usage monitoring system. People Power's cloud based Energy Services Platform, announced in November of 2010, is an open energy management platform that manages and controls internet-enabled equipment and devices. The patent covers technology developed by People Power that scans and determines actively connected appliances, registers the list of connected appliances to a remote server, and reports power usage on the appliances.
