Selventa Granted Patent for Computer-based Storage System

Cambridge, MA -- Selventa™, which evolved from Genstruct®, Inc. today announced that the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office has issued the Company U.S. Patent No 7,865,534, titled “System, Method and Apparatus for Assembling and Mining Life Science Data.”
This patent describes an in silico-based data storage system that allows scientists to systematically capture, store and update computer-operable biological representations based on life science ontologies. This system uses machine-readable symbolic representations that are constraint-based to ensure that the encoded complex life science knowledge is semantically rigorous.
