Patent Litigator Warren MacRae Joins New York Office
New York, NY -- Loeb & Loeb LLP announced that Warren MacRae will join the firm’s New York office as a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group. He joins the firm from Bryan Cave LLP’s New York office where he was also a partner.
MacRae brings with him a strong background in chemical patent matters, with particular emphasis in the areas of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, polymer technology and food chemistry.
"Warren’s vast experience in chemical patent litigation matters will complement our rapidly expanding patent group. Warren is the twelfth attorney to join our group in the last five months," said Barry Slotnick, Partner and Chair of Loeb & Loeb’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group.
While much of his practice is devoted to patent litigation and litigating interferences, MacRae regularly counsels clients in the areas of patent validity, infringement and enforceability. In addition, he represents clients before the United State Patent and Trademark Office, focusing on prosecution and appeals in strategically important patent applications. Warren successfully prosecuted Natta et al., US Patent No. 6,365,687, entitled "PROCESS FOR THE POLYMERIZATION OF CERTAIN UNSATURATED HYDRO CARBONS" which claims Noble Prize winning Ziegler-Natta catalyst systems and was pending for nearly 50 years, and Parodi et al., US Patent No. 6,194,342, entitled "COMPONENTS AND CATALYSTS FOR THE POLYMERIZATION OF OLEFINS" which was pending for 20 years.
"In addition to demonstrating a real commitment to building a robust patent practice, Loeb & Loeb has a reputation for providing their clients with a level of service that goes above and beyond the call of duty," said MacRae. "I’m looking forward to contributing to the continued success of this firm."
Complementary to his work in the field and in addition to his J.D., MacRae earned his B.S., cum laude, with honors in chemistry and his M.S. in organic chemistry from St. John’s University. Prior to working at Bryan Cave, he was an associate at Vogt & O’Donnell, LLP.
"We enthusiastically welcome Warren aboard," said Michael Beck, Loeb & Loeb Co-Chairman. "With a deeply rooted knowledge of the chemical field and an outstanding track record with clients, he will surely be an asset to our patent group and the firm as a whole."
Loeb & Loeb’s patent litigators in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago represent clients from around the world in all manner of patent disputes. As lead trial counsel, Loeb & Loeb attorneys have litigated patents in every technology field, including computer software, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, military technology, consumer products, mechanical devices, electronics and optics. Loeb & Loeb’s patent litigators have represented clients of all sizes, from emerging start-up companies to Fortune 100 companies.
"We’ve been very active in building upon our already successful practices," said John Frankenheimer, Loeb & Loeb Co-Chairman. "Warren is the newest in a line of top-notch lateral hires we’ve brought on to ensure we are providing the best possible level of service for our clients."
