Coalition for 21st Century Patent Reform Statement on Senate Mark Up of S. 1145

Washington, DC -- The Coalition for 21st Century Patent Reform, a group of more than 40 companies from a variety of industry sectors, released the following statement after the Senate Judiciary Committee mark up of S. 1145, the Patent Reform Act of 2007.
"Today's Senate Judiciary mark-up of the Patent Reform Act of 2007 underscores that there remain deep concerns and divisions regarding the legislation as currently drafted. The Coalition for 21st Century Patent Reform will continue to work with legislators, the PTO and other stakeholders to seek improvements to the legislation that will protect America's patent system and promote the work of inventors. Patents are central to encouraging investment, innovation and research. We believe policymakers must further refine the patent reform bill so that all innovators are treated fairly."
