International Trademark Association Presents VSA Awards in Phoenix

DLA Piper LLP is proud to announce that the International Trademark Association (INTA) honored Mark Feldman with the Volunteer Service Award (VSA) in the Advancement of Committee Objectives category. INTA is a global member-based organization dedicated to supporting trademarks and related intellectual property in order to protect consumers and to promote fair and effective commerce.

The VSAs recognize individuals who provide exemplary volunteer service to INTA during the past year. As a member of INTA’s Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition Committee, Feldman made a tremendous impact by volunteering both his time and expertise to support the association’s goals and objectives as outlined in its 2014–2017 strategic plan.

Through various committee positions, Feldman has been involved in the moot court competition for more than 15 years. In recent years, and as the competition has grown, he has enthusiastically filled positions that can be both stressful and time-consuming. These include Regional Coordinating Subcommittee Chair and Competition Coordinating Chair—roles that involve the efficient coordination and execution of five regional events all taking place on the same day. The success and growing popularity of this competition has led to its expansion into a fifth region, and is a testament to Feldman’s dedication to his committee and its objectives, and to INTA student members.

“Among those involved in the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition, Mark is regarded as both a trademark law and competition expert,” said INTA President Mei-lan Stark. “Mark brings many years of experience and expertise to the competition and an infectious sense of enthusiasm and joy to his colleagues and to the student competitors. On behalf of INTA, I would like to Mark for the tremendous value he brought to the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition over the years.”

Feldman will be recognized for his achievements during an awards ceremony at INTA’s Annual Leadership Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona on Thursday, November 13, 2014.
