Wolf Greenfield Names El-Hayek, M.D., Counsel

Boston, MA -- Wolf, Greenfield & Sacks, P.C., a Boston intellectual property law firm, promoted attorney Roque El-Hayek, M.D., from associate to counsel.
El-Hayek advises major academic institutions as well as biotech and pharmaceutical companies on strategies for obtaining patents for innovations in biotechnology, cellular and molecular biology, drug delivery, medical therapeutics, and pharmaceuticals. For one academic client, he secured patent protection for a licensed diagnostic test that is expected to be used on millions of patients and is the basis of a new therapeutic indication.
Before joining Wolf Greenfield in 2000, El-Hayek served as a senior research associate with the Boston Biomedical Research Institute.
El-Hayek has repeatedly been named one of Massachusetts Super Lawyers’ “Rising Stars” in intellectual property law and also received the American Heart Association’s Scientist Development Award. He has authored or co-authored more than 20 articles in journals including Biochemistry, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Biophysical Journal, and American Journal of Physiology, and is fluent in French and Arabic.
El-Hayek received his bachelor’s degree in biology from the American University of Beirut and his medical degree from the American University of Beirut Medical School. He is a graduate of Suffolk University Law School.
El-Hayek lives in Belmont, MA.
