Intellectual Property Association Taps Nixon Peabody Partner for Leadership Role

Attorney R. Mark Halligan Assumes Vice President Role
Chicago, IL – International law firm Nixon Peabody LLP announces that R. Mark Halligan, an intellectual property partner in the firm’s Chicago office, has been named Vice President of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) U.S. group. Mr. Halligan’s term will last two years and is effective as of the close of the 2010 Annual Meeting.
AIPPI is an international organization comprised of business firms, executives, lawyers, educators, patent and trademark agents, intellectual property owners, and other persons interested in the worldwide protection of patents, designs, trademarks, trade names, know how, goodwill, copyright, and other intellectual property rights and the elimination of unfair trade practices.
Mr. Halligan is an accomplished trial lawyer who focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation and complex commercial litigation in federal and state courts throughout the United States. Additionally, he is an experienced patent litigator. Mr. Halligan has also developed an extensive practice as an intellectual property litigator focused on protection and enforcement of trade secrets.
Mr. Halligan is the founder of the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago (IPLAC), Trade Secrets and Unfair Competition Committee and he is a member of the American Bar Association (Intellectual Property Litigation) and of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) amicus committee.
