Duane Morris’ Sandra A. Jeskie Named to the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center’s List of Arbitrators

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

Philadelphia, PA -- Duane Morris partner Sandra Jeskie has been selected to join the World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) Arbitration and Mediation Center’s List of Arbitrators. The few candidates chosen for this honor range from experienced dispute resolution generalists to highly specialized practitioners and experts covering the entire legal and technical spectrum of intellectual property. Their geographical diversity suits the international character of many disputes.

WIPO is a specialized agency of the United Nations. It is dedicated to developing a balanced and accessible international intellectual property system, which rewards creativity, stimulates innovation and contributes to economic development while safeguarding the public interest. Based in Geneva, the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center, established in 1994, offers Alternative Dispute Resolution options, in particular arbitration and mediation, for the resolution of international commercial disputes between private parties. The approach offered by the Center is widely recognized as particularly appropriate for technology, entertainment and other disputes involving intellectual property.

Jeskie, co-chair of the Duane Morris Information Technology and Telecom practice group, has a diverse national practice focused on business and technology-based litigation, including intellectual property litigation, software litigation, e-commerce, and Internet law. She has served as a court-appointed Special Master in cases involving technology and e-discovery and is President of the International Technology Law Association (ITechLaw), Vice-Chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association's Business Law section, as well as chair of the firm's e-discovery committee. She is a co-author of chapters in Business and Commercial Litigation in Federal Courts and in The Woman Advocate and was named a BTI Client Service All-Star. Additionally, Jeskie has more than 16 years of experience as a computer scientist and was previously an adjunct professor at Rutgers School of Law.

Jeskie earned her J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law, magna cum laude. She graduated with an M.B.A. from LaSalle University, where she also earned her B.A. in computer science.
