Hasbro, Inc. Obtains Permanent Injunction from Buzz Bee Toys for Patent Infringement

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

Pawtucket, RI -- Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE: HAS) obtained a Consent Judgment in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts against its competitor, Buzz Bee Toys, Inc., for patent infringement in connection with Hasbro’s SUPER SOAKER brands.

Hasbro filed suit against Buzz Bee in June 2010, seeking to enjoin Buzz Bee from infringing its U.S. patent relating to its NERF SUPER SOAKER water product patent. As part of the Consent Judgment, Buzz Bee acknowledged that certain of its water gun products infringe Hasbro’s patent. Buzz Bee is permanently enjoined from manufacturing, marketing or selling any product which utilizes Hasbro’s NERF SUPER SOAKER water product patent.

“We are very pleased with the result of this Consent Judgment and Hasbro will continue to vigorously pursue companies who misappropriate our intellectual property for their own profit,” said Wayne Charness, Hasbro’s Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications.
