Waddey Is Only Nashville Attorney Selected to Serve in Southeast Region

Nashville, TN -- I.C. (Jack) Waddey Jr., co-founder of Nashville law firm Waddey & Patterson, P.C., has been selected to serve on the Panel of Neutrals of the International Trademark Association (INTA). As a member of the Panel of Neutrals, Waddey can mediate cases throughout the United States. He is the only Nashville attorney and one of only two Tennessee attorneys to serve on the 16-member regional panel.

“I am honored to serve on the Panel of Neutrals with distinguished colleagues who I have admired for many years,” said Waddey. “The panel is highly respected by mediators, arbitrators, attorneys and business leaders worldwide.”

INTA’s Panel of Neutrals is an innovative Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) program that has been very successful in resolving trademark and unfair competition disputes without litigation. Appointment to the Panel of Neutrals is based on a careful review and consideration of applicants who must have substantive legal knowledge and experience in alternative dispute resolution coupled with training in mediation. The southeastern region of INTA includes the states of Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.

Waddey is a Distinguished Fellow of the International Academy of Mediators and a member of the technology panel of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR). He is a member of the Tennessee Academy of Mediators and Arbitrators, a chapter of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals and also is a member of the Commercial Mediators Association, the NASD / FINRA Panel of Arbitrators and Mediators, and the International Trademark Association. He currently serves as a Board member of the Nashville Entrepreneur Center and as director of Ocean-Tomo’s ADR services. For more than five years, he has been listed as one of the top 150 lawyers in Tennessee by BusinessTN magazine.

He was president of the Tennessee Association of Professional Mediators from 2005 to 2006 and president of the Tennessee Intellectual Property Association from 2004 to 2006. Waddey is a member of the Nashville Bar Association, the Nashville Bar Foundation and the Tennessee Bar Association. He is a past chairman of the Tennessee Bar Association’s Section on Intellectual Property. A member of the American Bar Association, he is a member of both the Intellectual Property and Alternative Dispute Resolution sections.
