Connolly Bove Announces Continued Expansion

Firm Welcomes Edward Behm and Thomas McWilliams as Partners and Jennifer L. Bachorik, Ph.D., as a Technical Advisor

Wilmington, DE – Connolly Bove Lodge & Hutz LLP is pleased to announce two new partners in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group, Edward F. Behm Jr. and Thomas J. McWilliams. Both joined the firm’s Wilmington, DE office. They previously practiced at Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP’s Philadelphia office. Connolly Bove has also added a new technical advisor, Jennifer L. Bachorik, Ph.D., as part of its ongoing expansion of its biotechnology and plant science practice.

“We are very pleased to welcome Ted and Tom to the firm,” said Chip Connolly, managing partner of Connolly Bove. “Their addition furthers our plan to expand our IP and emerging company practices. They will also deepen our bench in the computer, software and telecommunications fields.”

Mr. McWilliams focuses his practice on intellectual property related acquisitions, investments and joint ventures relating to early-stage and emerging technologies. Among other achievements, he has led the development of a $150 million investment fund dedicated to emerging defense-related technologies and has leveraged patents he obtained for a hi-tech client to broker a $1.1 billion acquisition of that client based on its patent portfolio. Tom earned his J.D., with honors, from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and his master's in electrical engineering from The Pennsylvania State University. He received two bachelor's degrees, cum laude, one in electrical engineering with a minor in physics and the other in industrial engineering and business management from Wilkes University.

Mr. Behm focuses his practice on the preparation and prosecution of domestic and foreign patents, including reexaminations, trademarks and copyrights, litigation of patent, trade dress, trade secret, copyright, domain name and contractual matters, and intellectual property counseling, opinions and transactional matters. Ted is currently attending Pennsylvania State University, where he will obtain his Master's of Engineering in Systems Engineering in 2013. He earned his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law. He received two bachelor's degrees, one in environmental science and the other in chemistry from Virginia Tech.

Jennifer L. Bachorik, Ph.D., also will be working in the firm’s Wilmington office. She received her Ph.D. in cellular and molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin and graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. Jennifer brings to the firm five years of postdoctoral research experience in cellular and molecular biology and recently worked at the IP Boutique of Panitch, Schwarze, Belisario and Nadel LLP.
