Ulmer & Berne Welcomes Intellectual Property Attorney Duke Haugh to Cincinnati Office

Cincinnati, OH -- Ulmer & Berne LLP is pleased to announce that Lucas V. (Duke) Haugh has joined the firm’s Intellectual Property & Technology Group as an associate in the firm’s Cincinnati office.

Mr. Haugh focuses his practice on intellectual property issues, with a particular emphasis on patent law, including patent procurement in the electrical and mechanical arts. He has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in a wide array of technologies, including software, e-commerce, medical devices, disk drives, routers, information technology, betting/gaming, RFIDs, manufacturing systems, banking, wireless communications, video compression and financial instruments. He also counsels clients on a range of intellectual property and technology-related matters. In addition, Mr. Haugh has provided support for patent and trademark litigation and patent reexamination proceedings.

Mr. Haugh comes to the firm from wireless technology development company InterDigital, Inc., where he was a patent attorney. Previously, he was an associate with K&L Gates LLP in Pittsburgh and Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Columbia, S.C. Mr. Haugh is a registered patent attorney and is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar.

Mr. Haugh also has a background in engineering, having worked as an electrical engineer prior to law school.

Mr. Haugh earned his J.D., with honors, from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where he was the managing editor of the North Carolina Journal of Law and Technology. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering,with distinction, from Ohio Northern University.
