Lucky Litter LLC Announces Settlement of Litigation

Chicago, IL -- Lucky Litter LLC d/b/a Brilliant Pet™, maker of ScoopFree® self-cleaning litter boxes and cartridges and award-winning FroliCat™ pet toys, announced today that all court actions regarding patent and trademark infringement between Lucky Litter LLC and Applica Consumer Products, Inc. have been settled on a mutually acceptable basis. The various suits between the companies pending in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas have been dismissed.

Lucky Litter LLC is the owner of U.S. Patents 7,762,213, 7,997,230 and 8,028,659, which cover removable litter tray cartridges sold for use with ScoopFree litter boxes and the ScoopFree litter boxes themselves. The Company intends to vigorously enforce its rights in these patents, as well as future patents in its intellectual property pipeline.
