Clark G. Sullivan Joins Troutman Sanders’ New York Office

Wednesday, August 07, 2013

Troutman Sanders LLP is pleased to announce that intellectual property lawyer Clark G. Sullivan has joined the firm as a partner in the New York office.

Sullivan, who was previously a partner at Arnall Golden Gregory LLP, represents clients in patent litigation, patent prosecution, technology licensing and other intellectual property issues.

"We are delighted to add Clark to our team," said Ryan Schneider, a leading intellectual property lawyer in Georgia and a partner in Troutman Sanders’ Intellectual Property practice. "Clark continues the successful growth of our life sciences bench, in particular, the practice’s pharmaceutical patent work – both litigation and counseling. Clark’s experience, including his considerable work with pharmaceutical companies, large and small, matches well with our growing IP client base."

Sullivan has handled numerous disputes involving patent infringement, false advertising, appeals of administrative actions and federal antitrust law. He has represented plaintiff and defendant drug companies, nutritional supplement companies, and chemical and beverage companies, on an array of different technologies, at the preliminary injunction stage and through trial and appeal. Sullivan also has a significant practice in patent prosecution, counseling and transactional work. He regularly advises clients on the Hatch-Waxman Act and FDA approval issues. He has negotiated numerous asset purchase and technology transfer agreements for pharmaceutical, medical device and diagnostics clients. Sullivan has extensive experience defending client patent positions around the world, including in Europe, Japan, Australia, China and India.

“Clark’s intellectual property experience and industry knowledge will enhance our expanding IP practice in the New York office," said David Dantzler, Managing Partner of Troutman Sanders’ New York office. "Clark is the fourth IP partner we have added in this office in the last year, which reflects the firm’s commitment to this very important market and to continuing to grow our practices strategically through the addition of laterals who offer the experience our clients are seeking in this complex business environment.”

"I am honored and delighted to join the stellar IP practice at Troutman Sanders," said Sullivan. "The depth of litigation and patent prosecution experience provides an outstanding platform for handling the diverse needs of my existing clients, and continuing to expand my practice in the life sciences area."

Sullivan earned a J.D. from Georgia State University, where he graduated, magna cum laude, and he received a B.C.E. from Georgia Institute of Technology.
