Monday, November 04, 2013

Intellectual Property law firm Reising Ethington announced today that it has expanded its Medical Device industry team with the addition of Shannon Murphy. Currently a legal intern with the firm, Shannon has accepted a position of associate attorney, to commence beginning next spring upon completion of her legal studies. Shannon graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Neuroscience, with related coursework including Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Neurobiology, and Molecular Endocrinology. She is currently in the top 5% of her class at the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law. In addition to her academics, Shannon brings first-hand experience of China’s IP Law system to Reising’s Medical Device industry team. She participated in a study abroad program at the Peking University Institute of Intellectual Property in Beijing, China. Her studies focused on intellectual property and international business organizations, and included instruction from Chief Judge Randall Rader of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

"This is a great example of our commitment to our Medical Device industry clients, and the quality staff we have. Shannon chose to come here and we are very glad she did." said Reising Ethington Shareholder David Simonelli.

Reising Ethington, P.C. is one of the oldest intellectual property law firms in Michigan. Since 1865, the firm has specialized solely in the practice of intellectual property law.
