Novak Druce Welcomes Back Patent Litigation Attorney to Delaware Office

Thursday, December 05, 2013

With Delaware leading the way in patent litigation filings, demand for top talent continues to surge. Novak Druce Connolly Bove + Quigg LLP announced today that Karen Riesenburger Poppel has rejoined the firm as an associate in its Wilmington, Del. office. Ms. Poppel brings to the firm her experience representing clients in patent litigation, with a focus in the ANDA field.

"We are pleased to welcome Karen back to our Wilmington office and our growing litigation team,” said Greg Novak, managing partner and CEO of the firm. “It’s nice to see a former Connolly Bove associate return to our Delaware litigation group. Karen is a great addition. We expect our expansion in Wilmington, a center for patent litigation, to continue."

She holds a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in chemistry from Emory University, and a Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School. While at law school, Ms. Poppel served as a judicial extern to the Honorable John M. Facciola in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.

Ms. Poppel was previously an associate with Connolly Bove Lodge & Hutz LLP, which merged with Novak Druce + Quigg at the beginning of the year. Prior to joining the firm, she was an associate in the Philadelphia office of another national law firm.

“Novak Druce is known for its incredible depth of knowledge and experience in intellectual property matters, both before the Patent and Trademark Office and in patent litigation,” Ms. Poppel said. “I’m excited to rejoin the firm and work with such a fine group of talented and dedicated attorneys.”
