Firm Continues to Expand in Key Practice Areas With Hire of Aaron Charfoos

Dykema, a leading national law firm, announced today the addition of Aaron Charfoos to its Intellectual Property Group and Litigation Department as a member in the firm’s Chicago office. Prior to joining Dykema, Charfoos was a Partner at Kirkland & Ellis.

Mr. Charfoos is an experienced trial lawyer specializing in complex patent and commercial litigation. In 2012 he secured two major trial victories for his clients including one of the top defense verdicts in California that year. Mr. Charfoos has also won a number of appeals before the Federal Circuit, Ninth Circuit and Indiana Court of Appeals. In addition to leading litigation and appellate teams, Charfoos counsels clients on intellectual property portfolio valuation and technological development and patent prosecution strategy.

“Aaron possesses an impressive background and has worked on important matters for significant clients throughout his career,” said Peter Kellett, Chairman and CEO of Dykema. “He is a valued addition to our IP and commercial litigation practices.”

Mr. Charfoos’s clients work in a variety of industries including computer science, telecommunications, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, financial services, genetics, biotechnology, medical devices and technology outsourcing. He has also been an active member of the American Bar Association and Intellectual Property Owners Association.

“We are very excited to welcome Aaron to the firm and think he will be a great fit,” said Michael Borders, Office Managing Member of the firm’s Chicago office. “He has an excellent track record of representing clients across the country in key industries, including technology and energy, which meshes well with our diverse client roster.”

Charfoos received his B.A from Northwestern University, with honors, and his J.D. from the Northwestern University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude.
