CPA Global’s Fourth State of the IP Industry Survey to Capture Key Issues Facing IP Professionals Worldwide
Monday, February 17, 2014
Corporations and law firms asked to weigh in with their views on main challenges and opportunities in IP management
Intellectual property (IP) professionals in corporations and law firms around the world are again being given the opportunity to weigh in and express their views on the key issues facing the industry, with the launch today of The State of the IP Industry Survey 2014.
The survey, undertaken by CPA Global in association with IP Review magazine, seeks to identify what IP practitioners consider to be the main challenges, threats and opportunities in IP management today. Underlining the increasingly global nature of the IP industry, the survey is available in English, German, French, Chinese (both simplified and traditional), and Korean.
This is the fourth State of the IP Industry Survey since the poll was first introduced in 2009. Findings of the most recent survey, released in 2012, highlighted that, although there was generally a greater awareness of the importance and value of IP, both in-house and law firm practitioners were facing ongoing budgetary constraints that were proving a major influence over IP strategy.
As a result, corporate IP teams said they were streamlining the administrative aspects of IP management and focusing their attention on 'higher value' IP and/or territories, with some saying they were looking to extend the type of work they outsourced to specialist IP management services providers.
Results of the 2014 survey are expected to be released in the second quarter of the year. Click here to view the survey.
