Jessica Mendez Named General Counsel to St. Louis Hispanic Chamber

Jessica Mendez, an attorney in Armstrong Teasdale’s Intellectual Property practice group, was named general counsel to the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan St. Louis (HCCSTL). In this role, she will advise the HCCSTL board of directors on a pro bono basis.

The HCCSTL, an affiliate of United Stated Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC), was incorporated in 1982 and strives to support and promote Hispanic small businesses. Mendez is a member of both organizations and completed HCCSTL’s Latino Leadership Institute program last year.

She is also vice president and a founding member of the Hispanic Bar Association of St. Louis. A member of The Missouri Bar, she serves as vice-chair of its Minority Issues Committee. She is also co-chair of the Minorities in the Legal Profession Committee of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.

In her law practice, Mendez represents clients in disputes involving infringement of patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade secrets pending in state, federal and appellate courts throughout the United States. She also counsels brand owners in matters involving trademark selection, clearance and protection.

She earned her LL.M. in Intellectual Property and J.D. from Washington University School of Law and B.A., cum laude, in Political Science and English from Boston University. Admitted to practice law in Missouri and Illinois, Mendez holds positions with a number of professional organizations including The Missouri Bar, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, and the National Hispanic Bar Association.
