Merchant & Gould, a leading intellectual property law firm, announced today two new additions to its New York office. Lee Goldberg joins as partner, and Benjamin Graf joins as an associate. Both attorneys come from the firm Goldberg Cohen LLC.

Goldberg has over 24 years of experience litigating intellectual property matters, serving as lead counsel in utility and design patent, trademark, trade dress, unfair competition, false advertising and copyright litigations. Prior to joining Merchant & Gould, Goldberg co-founded the full service intellectual property law firm Goldberg Cohen LLP. For the past five years, Goldberg has served as lead trial counsel, successfully representing one of the world’s leading baby product companies in all intellectual property matters.

Goldberg’s litigations have involved a wide range of products and technologies, including pharmaceuticals, food packaging, baby products, software, as well as medical and mechanical devices. Prior to founding Goldberg Cohen, Goldberg was a partner with the firm of Darby & Darby PC, and associated with the firm of Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto. His career began with the firm of Hopgood, Calimafde, Kalil, Balustein & Judlowe.

Goldberg graduated from Rutgers University in 1984 where he received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. His Juris Doctorate degree is from New York Law School.

Before joining Merchant & Gould, Graf worked as an associate for Goldberg Cohen Law Firm, where he participated in all aspects of intellectual property practice, including both prosecution and litigation.

Graf graduated cum laude from Boston University in 2005, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Physics. His Juris Doctorate degree is from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City.

“Lee and Ben’s extensive experience in technologies, products and intellectual property matters are a great addition to the firm. With them, our New York office is now full service, offering litigation, client counseling, prosecution, and opinion work,” said Brian H.
